Job Description

Location: Chennai

Designation: Assistant Manager

Entity: Deloitte LLP

Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including employee salaries, statutory deductions, and benefits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and labour laws

Perform advanced payroll-related financial analysis, identifying cost trends, variances, and benefits utilisation to provide actionable insights for decision-making

Forecast payroll expenses and statutory contributions, supporting broader cash flow planning and workforce budgeting

Reconcile payroll accounts and bank accounts, investigate complex discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of open items

Prepare and review payroll reports and reconciliations for audits, statutory filings, and management reporting

Identify, design, and implement process improvements, automation, and standardisation initiatives across payroll operations

Partner with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to streamline payroll inputs, improve reporting accuracy, and ensure integration with accounting systems

Support cross-functional initiatives, providing payroll subject matter expertise in planning, transformation, and compliance projects

Mentor junior payroll analysts, fostering knowledge sharing and capability development within the team

Ensure strict adherence to payroll principles, company policies, and local statutory requirements
