Assistant Manager - Impairment Reporting

As an Assistant Manager - Impairment Reporting at Barclays, you will be responsible for embedding a control functionality by leading the development of the team's output. Your role will involve helping colleagues demonstrate analytical and technical skills, knowledge of retail credit risk management fundamentals, and sound judgement in collaboration with the wider team and management. **Key Responsibilities:** - Identify potential impairment triggers and analyze relevant financial and non-financial information to assess the potential for impairment of financial assets. - Apply quantitative and qualitative impairment tests to determine whether an asset is considered impaired. - Assess impairment loss for an asset by identifying the right valuation method, assessing its fair value, and documenting the process. - Calculate impairment provision to reflect the impairment loss and prepare clear and accurate impairment disclosures for financial statements. - Manage the performance of impaired assets and reassess their impairment status regularly. **Qualifications Required:** - Understanding of key accounting principles under IFRS. - Good stakeholder engagement skills and ability to understand and execute their requirements and expectations. - Strong interpersonal and analytical skills. In addition to the above, some other highly valued skills for this role include preparing and submitting statutory and regulatory reports, supporting the production of commentary packs and decks, maintaining a robust system of internal controls, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory authorities. This role is based in the Noida office and aims to evaluate and assess the potential impairment of financial assets to ensure the bank's financial statements accurately reflect the economic value of its assets.
