Job Description

Objective / Purpose of duty-The Team Leader will oversee and guide a team handling end-to-end employee background verification processes and offboarding activities. This role ensures compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry best practices while maintaining a smooth employee experience and mitigating organizational risk.

Duties you will perform include, but are not limited to:

Lead, coach, and supervise a team managing background verification and employee offboarding processes.

Allocate workload, monitor team performance, and ensure adherence to timelines and SLAs.

Conduct regular team meetings, reviews, and provide performance feedback. Background Verification (BGV)

Oversee initiation, tracking, and closure of background verification checks (education, employment history, criminal records, reference checks, etc.).

Liaise with external verification vendors and ensure timely completion of cases.

Maintain accurate BGV records and generate reports for stakeholders.

Handle escalations, discrepancies, and ensure resolution within defined timelines.

Ensure compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and client contracts. Offboarding Management

Supervise the offboarding process including exit formalities, access disablement checklist clearance, MIS/ tracker documentation, and final settlement are actioned as per the TAT.

Work with the stakeholders to ensure timely collection of company assets (laptops, ID cards, access cards, etc.) and checklists closures.

Conduct/oversee exit interviews and capture employee feedback.

Updation of SOPs and FAQs timely

Competencies/Skills:

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities.

Knowledge of HR operations, background verification practices and offboarding related compliance

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

Proficiency in HRMS tools, MS Office, and reporting.

Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance

Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: 7-10 yrs in HR operations with at least 2-3 years in background verification and/or offboarding activities
