Job Role Executive / Asst. Manager Function Engineering & Planning

Job Objective

Carry out activities pertaining to planning and engineering aspects of steel networks and related

materials with a strong focus on safety, quality & time. To adopt, implement, monitor & ensure

industry standards / practices and specifications in engineering design and planning. Supporting

relevant functions such as Contracts & Procurement, Projects and Operation & Maintenance by

ensuring all applicable technical inputs are made available.

Relevant Experience 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in Hydrocarbon

/ Energy / Process Industry / City Gas Distribution project.

Key responsibilities & Accountabilities

Material Planning activities pertaining to steel projects

• Initiating and expediting various activities required for the procurement of materials for the

fiscal year like forecasting, placing of indents of materials, cost estimation for the indents,

carrying out the Technical Bid Evaluation, and assist C&P in order processing.

• Expediting with vendors as well as internal departments and coordinating with third party

inspection agencies for carrying out the inspection of the materials sourced from vendors

located in indigenous locations to facilitate the availability of various materials (like pipes,

fittings, valves, IJs, etc.) and contracts pertaining to steel projects.

• Carry out activities to develop new vendors for supply of materials & contracts related to

steel projects

• Carry out activities in compliance with ISO procedure.

Planning of steel pipeline networks:

• Carrying out the survey, optimization of network design, preparation of steel pipeline

network drawings and issuing the planned drawings to Projects Department for construction;

and ensure compliance to the ISO process pertaining to the same.

• Carrying out survey & propose locations for installation of MRS / DRS; and issuing of the

planned drawings to Projects Department.

• Carrying out continuous updation and optimization of steel pipeline networks in Synergi

software, with the details of existing pipeline network (from GIS) as well as the proposed

pipeline network; and with the details of the potential load data.

• Provide details of cost of connection (pertaining to I&C customers) to Commercial /

Marketing Departments vide the CCRs (Connection Cost Requests) received from them.

Engineering related activities:

• Review and update technical specifications of materials, Codes of Practice, etc.

• Should be adequately conversant with engineering and design aspects of pipeline networks

and various materials used in CGD industry and have sound knowledge of national /

international technical standards like PNGRB T4S regulations, IS, ISO, EN, ASME, API, etc.
