Assistant Manager/Manager Sales (DG Sets) for a global manufacturing company.

Location:

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager/Manager Sales will be responsible for driving business growth for DG sets within the assigned territory. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market reach, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring end-to-end customer satisfactionfrom presales support to post-sales service. The candidate will act as the primary representative of the brand in the region, promoting product awareness and capturing business opportunities across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Achieve DG Set Sales Targets (Units & Value)

  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales numbers by actively identifying and converting business opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent inflow of orders.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and project requirements with customers to close deals effectively.
  • Track and report sales performance regularly to the regional sales head.

2. Build Market Awareness & Brand Visibility

  • Promote

    GCL DG sets

    across the assigned region through client meetings, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and participation in local events/industry forums.
  • Identify new customer segments, influencers, and business networks to increase brand penetration.
  • Stay updated on competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences, sharing insights with the management team.

3. Ensure Exceptional Customer Experience (Presales–Sales–Post Sales)

  • Provide detailed presales support including product sizing, technical clarifications, and solution recommendations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing, timely delivery, and efficient installation/commissioning.
  • Maintain strong customer relations post-sale to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Handle customer queries, escalations, and service-related concerns promptly along with the service team.

4. Regional Sales Expertise (DG Sets Industry)

  • Leverage regional market knowledge, competitor insights, and customer networks to drive sales efficiency.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with consultants, builders, contractors, OEM partners, and industries in and around the Madurai region.
  • Map key accounts and build long-term strategic partnerships for sustainable business growth.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in

    DG Sets sales

    is essential.
  • Strong understanding of DG set components, ratings, applications, and customer use cases.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently in the assigned territory.
  • Ability to travel within the region for client meetings and business development activities.
