Role Summary:

We are looking for an Artist Liaison & Archivist at Terrain. Art who will play a central role in bridging communication between artists, logistics, sales, and a company, event or institution. This role involves managing the artworks, condition checks, overseeing the inventory, archiving, onboarding the artists, and coordinating with frames and printers to ensure all related information and documentation remains up-to-date and organized.


Key Responsibilities

1. Supporting the artist:

  • Handle logistical and administrative tasks while also preserving the artist's work and history.
  • Work with artists and designers to photograph the artworks where high-res images are not available.
  • Prepare consignment & loan agreements, ensure agreements are signed & renewed on time in the expected format, and manage filing/storage of signed contracts.
  • Conduct condition checks of all artworks received and sent from warehouse (virtual checks for works shipped directly from artists).
  • Collaborate with the Shipping, Sales team and artists for movement of works and maintain an updated inventory in Terrain.Art’s allocated storage space.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory checks in all storage locations.
  • Ensure accuracy of information on CMS regarding artists, artworks, and location of works.
  • Train artists on using the CMS during onboarding.
  • Lead any Cataloguing or Archival projects that are onboarded, ensuring completion as per specifications and agreements.


2. Supporting Sales & Marketing:

  • Work with the Sales team and artists to obtain Purchase Invoices and any other supporting documents required for sales.
  • Coordinate with printers and framers along with the Sales team for printing and framing artworks.
  • Support the Sales team in coordinating physical viewings of works and large-scale projects.
  • Help curate selections based on client requirements of style, medium, dimensions, and price.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Art History, Museology, Conservation
  • 1–2 years of experience in Conservation, Artist Liaising, Archiving, Documentation, or similar fields
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge in Conservation, Documentation, and Basic Preventive Conservation
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and follow-ups
  • A genuine interest in contemporary art and sensitivity to artists’ needs
