Area Sales Manager

Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth and managing the sales operations in a defined geographical area. The role involves team leadership, sales strategy execution, distributor/channel partner management, and achieving sales targets through effective market penetration and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute area-specific sales plans aligned with company goals.
  
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region.
  
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sales Executives/Representatives.
  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key clients.
  
• Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities.
  
• Monitor team performance, provide training/coaching, and ensure high productivity.
  
• Conduct regular market visits to ensure availability, visibility, and proper execution of promotions.
  
• Track sales data and prepare reports for senior management.
  
• Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively within the area.
  
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  
• 4–8 years of experience in field sales, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
  
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of CRM tools is a plus.
  
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
