Job Summary: The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth and managing the sales operations in a defined geographical area. The role involves team leadership, sales strategy execution, distributor/channel partner management, and achieving sales targets through effective market penetration and customer engagement. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute area-specific sales plans aligned with company goals. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned region. Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Sales Executives/Representatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key clients. Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities. Monitor team performance, provide training/coaching, and ensure high productivity. Conduct regular market visits to ensure availability, visibility, and proper execution of promotions. Track sales data and prepare reports for senior management. Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively within the area. Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred). 4–8 years of experience in field sales, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and handle pressure. Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of CRM tools is a plus. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
