AREA SALES MANAGER

As a Sales Manager for chocolate and confectionery products, your primary responsibility will be to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in your assigned area. You will be expected to drive both primary sales through distributor billing and secondary sales through retailer off-take. Monitoring competitor activities, pricing, and market trends will be essential in adjusting sales strategies accordingly. In addition to sales targets, you will be in charge of team management, including supervising and guiding Sales Executives, Territory Sales Officers, and Merchandisers. Regular market visits with the team will be necessary to monitor performance and provide coaching. Ensuring daily reporting, beat plan adherence, and target achievement will also fall under your purview. Expanding retail coverage and penetration across general trade, modern trade, and institutional channels will be a key aspect of your role in distribution and channel development. You will need to work closely with distributors to maintain adequate stock levels and the right mix of SKUs while implementing effective route-to-market (RTM) strategies. Trade marketing and promotions will be another critical area where you will execute product launches, in-store promotions, sampling activities, and POSM placement. Collaboration with the marketing team to ensure brand visibility in retail outlets will be crucial. Monitoring the return on investment (ROI) on trade schemes and promotions will also be part of your responsibilities. Your role will also involve gathering and analyzing feedback from customers, retailers, and distributors to stay updated on market intelligence. Identifying new business opportunities and potential markets within your territory will be essential. Keeping track of competitor data on pricing, schemes, and new product introductions will also be necessary. Submitting accurate sales reports, expense statements, and market feedback on time will be required for reporting and compliance purposes.
