Role Overview:

The ASE – General Trade (GT) is responsible for driving sales growth, market execution, and distribution excellence within the assigned geography. The role involves leading a team of Sales Officers (SOs), ensuring achievement of both primary and secondary sales targets, and maintaining strong trade relationships across the market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management:

    Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 8–10 Sales Officers to achieve sales and distribution objectives.
  • Sales Achievement:

    Ensure attainment of primary and secondary sales targets across the assigned geography.
  • Market Execution:

    Drive flawless in-market execution including visibility, merchandising, and planogram adherence.
  • Distribution Expansion:

    Strengthen market reach by enhancing numeric and weighted distribution.
  • Collections & Hygiene:

    Maintain healthy sales and collection hygiene; ensure adherence to credit policies.
  • Trade Relationship Management:

    Build and sustain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key trade partners.
  • Data & Insights:

    Monitor sales trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Reporting:

    Provide timely and accurate reports on sales performance, market conditions, and team productivity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of FMCG sales experience with at least 2–3 years in General Trade channel management.
  • Proven experience in handling a team and managing distributors.

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset.
  • Understanding of FMCG distribution systems and channel dynamics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and sales reporting tools.
