Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage sales operations across the assigned cities/ cluster.
• Drive

  primary and secondary sales

  targets through effective distributor management.
• Identify, appoint, and train new distributors to expand retail reach.
• Guide and mentor

  Territory Sales Managers and Sales Officers

  , ensuring strong execution in trade.
• Implement

  trade marketing, visibility, and promotional programs

  to build market share.
• Review market gaps, competitor activities, and consumer insights to refine sales strategies.
• Ensure smooth claim processing, ROI monitoring, and credit control for distributors.
• Coordinate closely with RSM and cross-functional teams (supply chain, marketing, finance) for alignment on business priorities.
• Maintain regular market visits to ensure strong in-market execution and relationship building with key retailers.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Deep understanding of

  FMCG distribution models

  and general trade dynamics.
• Strong analytical and planning abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• 68 years of FMCG experience

  23 years in area management.
