Job Description

Position - Area Sales Executive

Qualifications : Graduate / MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred.

FMCG sales experience in General Trade.

  • Hands-on experience with

    distributors, CSOs/TSIs, and GT markets.

  • Strong understanding of

    FMCG general trade distribution.

  • Must have managed at least one major city or zone independently.
  • Experience across staples, food, or mass categories preferred

    .
  • Proficiency in MS Excel

Location : Hyderabad

CTC : 4 - 8 LPA

Role Purpose

The Area Sales Executive (ASE) is responsible for executing the sales and distribution strategy for the assigned city/area. This role drives secondary sales, market execution, distribution expansion, and merchandising excellence through on-ground coordination with distributors and field sales teams (CSOs/TSIs). The ASE ensures flawless implementation of all sales plans, trade activities, and visibility programs to deliver category and geography-level business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Delivery & Execution

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets for all categories.
  • Ensure target achievement at outlet, beat, and category level.
  • Drive ECO growth, NPD execution, and category penetration in the assigned area.

2. Market Coverage & Distribution Expansion

  • Maintain and expand numeric and weighted distribution across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets.
  • Monitor beat planning, route coverage, and daily productivity.
  • Identify and onboard new outlets to expand market reach.

3. Distributor Management

  • Ensure distributor operations run smoothly inventory, claims, order cycle, and credit hygiene.
  • Track distributor ROI and ensure adherence to agreed business terms.
  • Coordinate with distributor staff to ensure execution of schemes and promotional activities.

4. Market Execution & Visibility

  • Implement visibility programs, trade promotions, planograms, and merchandising guidelines.
  • Conduct regular market visits to track product availability, pricing hygiene, and competition activity.
  • Ensure flawless execution of product launches and trade activation plans.

5. Data, Reporting & Performance Review

  • Review daily/weekly sales performance through dashboards and MIS.
  • Report key KPIs: ECO, outlet coverage, productivity, NPD performance, and category growth.
  • Highlight deviations and implement corrective action plans promptly.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Commercial, and Marketing teams for seamless execution.
  • Support alignment on schemes, pricing, stock availability, and distributor issues.
  • Share relevant market insights with State Sales Manager and NHQ.
