1. Conceptual Design & PlanningUnderstand client requirements, site conditions, and project objectives. Develop initial concept designs, sketches, and mood boards. Create site layout plans, zoning analysis, and space planning strategies. Ensure the design aligns with functionality, aesthetics, budget, and building codes. 2. Architectural Drawings & DocumentationPrepare detailed architectural drawings using CAD, Revit, or BIM software. Coordinate with structural, MEP, and interior teams for integrated drawings. Generate presentation drawings, working drawings, elevations, and sections. Submit drawings for statutory approvals and building permits. 3. Client Coordination & PresentationsPresent design concepts and proposals to clients. Incorporate feedback and finalize design iterations. Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle. 4. Project Management & Execution SupportConduct periodic site visits to ensure the construction aligns with the approved design. Provide technical clarifications and resolve design-related site issues. Review shop drawings and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and consultants. Monitor project timelines from a design standpoint. 5. Material & Finish SelectionSpecify building materials, textures, and interior/exterior finishes. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for samples, approvals, and procurement. 6. Compliance & RegulationsEnsure adherence to local building by-laws, NBC (National Building Code), fire safety, and accessibility standards. Coordinate submission of drawings to local authorities and ensure approval compliance. 7. Sustainability & InnovationIntegrate green building principles and energy-efficient solutions where possible. Explore innovative materials and technologies for design and performance. Optional/Advanced Responsibilities (Senior Architects)Lead and mentor a team of junior architects and draftsmen. Prepare project budgets, feasibility studies, and tender documentation. Client acquisition and business development. Oversee multiple projects and provide strategic design direction.
