Application Support Engineer


Exp. Range: 6 to 10 years



What does a successful Application Support Engineer will do?


As an experienced member of our ESF/Communicator Open AppOps team, you will be responsible for effective management and maintenance of the ESF/Communicator Open application and ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation and continuous improvement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scripting, Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure, Kubernetes and be capable of analyzing and solving complex production issues and performing the root cause analysis.


What you will do:


  • Responsible for resolving production incidents by analyzing the issues and coordinating with necessary parties, consistently taking ownership and leading the situation.
  • Alerts and monitoring (Splunk and Dynatrace)
  • Discuss technical issues with business analysts and developers.
  • Build and optimize SQL queries to run on large databases efficiently
  • Analyze Network issues, understand the flows and dependencies and discuss it with the Network engineers.
  • Install, configure and maintain PKS – Kubernetes Web Services environments.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Participate in application performance testing and troubleshooting across whole software and hardware stack.
  • Recreate problems locally and able to debug the code to identify underlying defects.
  • Perform technical evaluation of the defects.
  • Understand the impact of changes across the application.
  • Operate effectively, and with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and escalate issues effectively
  • Identify possible points of failure in the infrastructure/applications and improve/resolve the identified vulnerability.
  • Confluence Knowledge articles/documentations
  • Automate the repetitive task to minimize manual efforts


What you will need to have:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Overall, 6-10 years of experience.
  • Experience working with Web Services based architectures (REST APIs, Springboot, J2EE architecture, Springboot), PKS – Kubernetes or Cloud based environments
  • Experience working on monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Moogsoft.
  • Experience working on Kubernetes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Modern scripting language like Python
  • Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) process, Agile methodologies, Jenkins, Git and Middleware Technology
  • Automation and scripting proficiency (SQL Optimization, scheduled jobs, Splunk, Python, Selenium)
  • Fintech market experience.
  • Familiar with Network architecture (Apigee, Firewalls, Network diagrams)
  • Ability to multi-task demonstrating flexibility to easily adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Good report generation skills.
  • Awareness/experience of ITIL standard methodologies, ITIL Foundations certification or higher, a plus
  • Flexible to work in shift or weekend on business demand.
