Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and solves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems, ensuring that business operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest technologies and methodologies, contributing to the overall improvement of service delivery and customer satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Windows Server Administrator with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing Windows server environments within VMware and Azure platforms and support Windows Server migration/upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the deployment, administration, optimization, and support of our Windows infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Should have hands-on experience in upgrading legacy Windows Server environments (e.g., 2008/2012/2016) to newer versions (e.g., 2019/2022/2025), ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, and adherence to best practices. Roles & Responsibilities: • Expected to perform independently and become an SME. • Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. • Contribute to providing solutions to work related problems. • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for application support. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively. Key Responsibilities: • Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022/2025) environments. • Manage and support VMware infrastructure including vSphere, ESXi hosts, vCenter, DRS, HA, vMotion, and snapshots. • Provision and manage virtual machines on VMware and Azure platforms. • Perform patch management, updates, and system performance tuning. • Hands on experience on Printer management and file services. • Troubleshoot Backup failures on Windows servers • Troubleshoot server access/down issues across VMware and Azure environments. • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools. • Handson experience in performing Windows Server migrations. • Assess existing server environments and identify compatibility or dependency issues. • Perform in-place upgrades and/or clean installations as required. • Migrate roles like File Services, and Print Services. • Create and maintain detailed migration documentation, rollback procedures, and testing plans. • Coordinate with application owners and infrastructure teams to verify service compatibility. • Ensure all systems meet security, compliance, and performance standards post-upgrade. • Monitor post-migration performance and troubleshoot issues as needed. Professional & Technical Skills: • Must Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Administration. • Good To Have Skills: Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management. • Strong understanding of server virtualization technologies. • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions. • Experience in scripting for automation of routine tasks. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of experience in Windows server administration. • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. • Practical knowledge of Azure IaaS and related services (VMs, Azure Snapshots, Disks, etc.). • Experience with Windows Server builds, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. • Understanding of PowerShell scripting. • Experience with Service now tool • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and documentation skills. • Familiarity with tools like Robocopy and DFS for migration. Additional Information: - This position is based at our Gurugram office. - A 15-year full time education is required.
