Analytics Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain 

  LookML models

   in Looker to enable robust self-service analytics.
• Build reusable, scalable 

  data pipelines

   and transformations in 

  BigQuery

  .
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into efficient data models and visualizations.
• Ensure 

  data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization

   across dashboards and queries.
• Implement 

  centralized metrics and definitions

   for consistent business reporting.
• Work with cross-functional teams (data engineering, product, business) to align data models with business needs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Looker dashboards, BigQuery performance issues, and data pipeline failures.
• Stay current with industry best practices in modern BI, analytics engineering, and cloud data platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as an 

  Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, or Data Analyst

   with strong technical ownership.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL

   (preferably Google BigQuery).
• Hands-on experience with 

  Looker

   (LookML, Explores, Views, PDTs, user permissions).
• Strong understanding of 

  data modeling principles

   (star schema, snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions).
• Experience with 

  data warehousing concepts

   and modern cloud data platforms (preferably GCP).
• Ability to optimize SQL queries and Looker Explores for 

  performance and scalability

  .
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with 

  large, complex datasets

  .
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 

  version control (Git)

   and collaborative LookML development.
• Familiarity with 

  dbt (data build tool)

   for transformation modeling.
• Knowledge of other BI/visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Understanding of 

  ETL/ELT pipelines

   and orchestration tools (Airflow, Cloud Composer).
