Job overview and responsibilities

This Product Analyst role is within the Passenger Service System Application Development area of United’s Digital Technology Team. This role will focus on modern database creation for customer reservations and fulfillment of requested products and services.

In the analyst role, you will be responsible for performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, crafting user stories, triaging issues, facilitating meetings, analyzing data and/or supporting functional/user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar with Agile scrum software development methodologies, have a natural analytical way of thinking/problem solving and be able to explain difficult concepts to both technical and non-technical users.

• Works on one or more moderate to complex projects and manages projects of a wide scope
• Requires moderate guidance to manage work and time
• Create detailed workflow models and process maps based on input from multiple sources
• Breaks down Features into functional end user focused user stories that are clearly documented, communicated and maintained with the solution and associated analysis
• Interacts daily with agile team members including Architecture, Development, Quality Assurance (QA), Scrum Master and Project Manager
• Reviews and validate QA test plans; support the QA team during test execution

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree
• Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration or similar
• 3+ years of IT and/or business experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training
• Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably with the audience in mind.
• Integrity and Trust - Involves being widely trusted, being seen as a direct, can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and helpful manner, keeps confidences, admits mistakes, and doesn’t misrepresent him/herself for personal gain

• Technical Expertise - Involves demonstrating a commitment to increasing knowledge and skills in current technical/functional area, keeping up to date on technical developments and industry practices
