Analyst- IB

As an Analyst in the IB Finance role under the Product Control team at Barclays, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the correctness and reporting of balance sheet and P&L for relevant entities. This will involve month-end ledger activities, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and providing relevant inputs for various reporting and corresponding audit. Your role will be crucial in overseeing the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will be expected to provide insights into trading performance and collaborate across functions to ensure a coordinated approach to trading activities. Key Responsibilities: - Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) figures for trading desks, investigating and resolving any discrepancies to reflect the true economic value of the trading portfolio. - Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of trading risks, reporting on financial risks to senior colleagues. - Maintain and analyze the bank's trading data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, providing insights to traders and senior colleagues on trading performance. - Prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities, support external audits, and ensure trading activities are appropriately reflected in financial statements. - Effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders and external parties. - Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a coordinated approach to trading activities. Qualifications Required: - Finance/Accounting qualification/degree, CA preferable but not compulsory. - Good financial acumen, accounting, and reporting skills. - Ability to understand and analyze financial information, including balance sheet and P&L. - Basic knowledge of IFRS9 and Financial instruments is a plus.
