Admission Counsellor – Job Overview

Nova Institute of Medical Sciences and Medical Research Center is looking for a dynamic and empathetic Admission Counsellor to join our admissions team. As the first point of contact for prospective students and their families, you will play a critical role in guiding applicants through the admissions process, providing accurate information about courses, eligibility, fees, and career prospects.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a student-centric approach, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic environment. You will collaborate closely with academic departments, marketing teams, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth and supportive admission experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Counselling: Interact with prospective students and their guardians to provide detailed information about academic programs, admission criteria, fee structure, and career pathways.
• Lead Management: Follow up with admission inquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins. Maintain and update leads in the CRM or admission management system.
• Admissions Process Support: Guide students through the entire admission cycle—from inquiry and application to enrolment and orientation.
• Campus Tours & Events: Coordinate and conduct campus tours, webinars, open houses, and admission-related events to engage potential applicants.
• Document Verification: Assist students in filling out application forms, collect necessary documents, and verify the authenticity of the submitted information.
• Collaboration with Departments: Liaise with academic and administrative departments to stay updated on course offerings, deadlines, and seat availability.
• Follow-Up Communication: Ensure timely and professional communication with prospective students to answer questions and support decision-making.
• Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of interactions, applications, conversions, and feedback. Prepare regular reports on admission status and outreach performance.
• Target Achievement: Work towards admission targets as set by the institution, helping to meet enrolment goals across academic programs.
• Market Awareness: Stay informed about competing institutions, market trends, and student expectations to better position our offerings.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in student counselling, admissions, or academic advising (preferably in the education sector).
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (fluency in regional languages is a plus).
• People Skills: Friendly, approachable, and patient with a genuine interest in helping students make informed decisions.
• Sales & Persuasion: Ability to effectively present academic programs and convert inquiries into successful admissions.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time-management, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office, email communication, and CRM or admission management tools.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to address concerns and resolve issues promptly while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Confidentiality: Maintain privacy and integrity in handling sensitive student information.
