Actuarial Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Carry out pricing calculations for proposed new tenders for the Group business, re-pricing of existing business, and review relevant documents in a timely manner, having regard to risks accepted and maintaining document quality
• Develop, maintain and supervise/use generic pricing models and quotation database
• Conducts quantitative and qualitative research to ensure products are priced accurately and relevant parties informed of future product development trends.
• Manage quotation process for reinsurance tenders and campaigns, and support negotiations
• Maintain satisfactory working relationships with the Group Distribution team to support the above activities
• Maintain case files on product and scheme pricing decisions and assumptions

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required

• Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and documentation skills
• Strong research, analytical and modelling experience
• Ability to manage projects to tight deadlines
• Skilled in managing large data sets used for statistical analysis
• Self-reliant team player and excellent communications (oral and written)
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, internally and externally

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree in actuarial science or actuarial papers cleared
• Three or more years experience on group risk pricing or relevant corporate experience
• Excellent numerical skills.
• Ability to maintain good relationships and manage workflow
