Job Description

Job Title:

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, execute, and verify z/OS upgrades (e.g., z/OS 2.x to 3.x).
Apply IBM PTFs/APARs and perform system IPLs for maintenance and upgrades.
Monitor system health and performance using RMF, SMF, Omegamon, etc.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain ISV products (e.g., Broadcom/CA, BMC, IBM, Rocket Software) including security, performance monitoring, scheduling, storage management, databases, and utilities.
Collaborate with vendors for support, licensing, and issue resolution.
Provide 24/7 critical system support, problem diagnosis, and performance tuning.
Develop and maintain REXX, JCL, and other scripts for automation.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure business continuity.
Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Mentor junior systems programmers and work closely with cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

7-10 years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer.
Strong knowledge of z/OS installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Experience with z/OS upgrades and system performance tuning.
Proficient in
JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, JES2/JES3
.
Experience with ISV products:

Security:
RACF, ACF2, Top Secret
Performance Monitoring:
Omegamon, RMF, SMF
Scheduling:
CA-7, TWS/OPC
Storage Management:
SMS, DASD tools (CA-Disk, FDR/ABR)

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
