Job Objective:

As the Workshop Manager for the Vehicle Scrapping Division, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the vehicle dismantling and recycling process. Reporting directly to the Director, you will ensure efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant dismantling operations while maximizing the recovery of valuable materials and maintaining productivity standards across the workshop.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Workshop Operations Management:

1. Direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of the vehicle scrapping workshop

2. Establish and implement efficient workflow processes for vehicle dismantling

3. Ensure optimal utilization of workshop space, equipment, and resources

Technical Supervision:

1. Oversee proper dismantling techniques for various vehicle types and models

2. Ensure correct segregation of reusable parts, recyclable materials, and waste

3. Implement technical innovations to improve dismantling efficiency and material recovery

Team Leadership:

1. Manage workshop staff including supervisors, technicians, and laborers

2. Provide technical training and guidance to team members

3. Monitor staff performance and implement productivity improvement measures

Quality Control:

1. Establish quality standards for dismantling processes and material recovery

2. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality parameters

3. Implement corrective actions for quality deviations

Inventory Management:

1. Maintain accurate records of vehicles received and processed

2. Oversee inventory of recovered parts and materials

3. Coordinate with commercial team for efficient movement of recyclable materials

Environmental and Safety Compliance:

1. Ensure all workshop operations comply with environmental regulations

2. Maintain proper hazardous material handling and disposal procedures

3. Enforce workplace safety standards and conduct regular safety drills

Maintenance Management:

1. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for workshop equipment

2. Ensure prompt repair of machinery breakdowns

3. Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements as needed

Process Optimization:

1. Analyze workshop data to identify bottlenecks and improvement areas

2. Implement lean management principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency

3. Develop standard operating procedures for all workshop activities

Reporting and Documentation:

1. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports

2. Maintain records required for regulatory compliance

3. Document best practices and process improvements

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field

2. Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive workshop or recycling operations

3. Strong technical knowledge of vehicle components and dismantling processes

4. Experience in team management and workshop supervision

5. Understanding of environmental regulations related to vehicle recycling

6. Proficiency in workshop management systems and MS Office

7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

8. Excellent communication and leadership skills

9. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology preferred
