Workshop Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow, timely delivery, and high-quality service standards.
• Manage and lead a team of technicians, painters, denters, washers, and support staff; ensure proper delegation and productivity.
• Supervise job card opening, repair estimation, vehicle diagnosis, execution of work, and final inspection before vehicle delivery.
• Maintain strong coordination between service, bodyshop, insurance, parts, and front office teams.
• Ensure exceptional customer experience by maintaining transparency, timely communication, and consistent service quality.
• Monitor workshop KPIs such as job turnaround time (TAT), labor efficiency, repeat job ratio, and customer satisfaction index (CSI).
• Implement and maintain workshop SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
• Close new vendor tie-ups and negotiate better purchasing rates for consumables, spares, and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
• Keep the workshop infrastructure, tools, and equipment up to date and in top working condition.

• Conduct regular training and performance reviews for workshop staff to ensure continuous skill and service improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 3 to 8 years of experience in automotive service operations, preferably in a multi-brand or dealership workshop.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Solid understanding of mechanical repairs, bodyshop processes (denting & painting), and workshop KPIs.
• Knowledge of DMS or workshop management software is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with team members and customers.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage workloads, and ensure high standards of service quality.
• Candidates from Siliguri/North Bengal or willing to relocate will be preferred.
