Job Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire service department operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, efficient workshop performance, and adherence to OEM standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and proven experience managing high-volume service operations in the automobile industry..
Key Responsibilities
1. Service Operations Management
* Supervise and manage daily operations of the service workshop, body shop, and service reception.
* Ensure optimal utilization of man-hours, workshop loading, and productivity.
* Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) as per OEM guidelines.
* Ensure timely diagnosis, repair, and delivery of vehicles.
2. Customer Relationship & Satisfaction
* Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction (CSI).
* Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
* Oversee service advisors to ensure proper customer communication and follow-ups.
* Implement customer retention and service marketing initiatives.
3. Team Leadership & Training
* Lead, train, motivate, and appraise service advisors, technicians, floor supervisors, and support staff.
* Conduct regular skill enhancement workshops and technical training sessions.
* Ensure a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
4. Business & Financial Performance
* Achieve monthly service revenue targets (Labour, Parts, Bodyshop).
* Control expenses to maintain profitability and efficiency.
* Monitor key performance indicators such as productivity, efficiency, absorption rate, and repeat repairs.
* Support management in budgeting and business planning.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
* Ensure adherence to OEM standards, warranty policies, and audit requirements.
* Oversee warranty claim processing and minimize rejections.
* Maintain workshop infrastructure, tools, equipment, and ensure regular calibration.
* Comply with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
SKILLS
* Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems (ICE/EV as applicable).
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and customer-handling skills.
* Proficiency in DMS, CRM tools, and OEM service systems.
