Job Description

1. Workshop Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the three-wheeler service workshop.
  • Ensure smooth workflow across service bays, mechanical repair, electrical repair, and diagnostic sections.
  • Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill level and workload.
  • Monitor adherence to manufacturer service standards and repair quality.

2. Customer Service & Satisfaction

  • Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure quick resolution.
  • Maintain transparent communication with customers about repair status, costs, and timelines.
  • Ensure delivery of vehicles within committed time frames.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure post-service satisfaction.

3. Technical Supervision & Quality Control

  • Guide and support technicians in diagnosing difficult or recurring technical issues.
  • Conduct final inspection of vehicles before delivery.
  • Ensure use of genuine spare parts and adherence to recommended repair practices.
  • Maintain high standards of service quality and safety.

4. Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise technicians, service advisors, and helpers.
  • Assess team performance and provide coaching where required.
  • Conduct regular technical training in coordination with OEM representatives.
  • Maintain discipline, work ethics, and safety protocols in the workshop.

5. Inventory & Spare Parts Coordination

  • Coordinate with the spare parts department to ensure the availability of fast-moving and critical parts.
  • Monitor stock levels, consumption patterns, and reorder requirements.
  • Reduce parts wastage, pilferage, and non-moving inventory.

6. Business & Financial Responsibilities

  • Achieve service revenue targets (labor, parts, value-added services).
  • Ensure cost-control in workshop operations and improve profitability.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports (bays utilization, productivity, efficiency).
  • Monitor warranty claims, ensure proper documentation, and minimize rejections.

7. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure the workshop complies with safety regulations, OEM guidelines, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct periodic audits on tools, equipment, and layout cleanliness.

8. Customer Relationship & Marketing Support

  • Assist in service campaigns, free checkup camps, and customer education programs.
  • Work with sales/marketing teams to promote AMC, extended warranty, and service packages.
  • Identify repeat repair issues and improve customer retention.
