WordPress Developer (Hosting + Website Optimization)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to support and improve our existing website for Olegio Restaurant and Bakery. The role involves fixing hosting-related performance issues, making website improvements, and implementing basic e-commerce and form automation features.

Key Responsibilities

1.⁠ ⁠Hosting & Performance Optimization

• Diagnose and fix website performance issues, including slow load times and unresponsive pages
• Analyze Hostinger hosting setup (VPS)
• Reduce server overload caused by traffic, plugins, or background processes

Optimize:

• WordPress configuration
• Plugins and themes
• Database
• Caching and memory usage
• Recommend and assist with:
• Hosting upgrade (if needed)
• Migration to better hosting architecture
• Basic security and backup setup

2.⁠ ⁠Website Development & Improvements

• Set up and finalize the online store (WooCommerce or equivalent)
• Configure payment gateway(s) (India-friendly options such as Razorpay, Stripe, etc.)
• Make content edits and layout adjustments on existing pages
• Perform minor UI/UX redesign for better appearance and usability
• Ensure mobile responsiveness

3.⁠ ⁠Forms & Email Automation

• Set up and configure form submissions (newsletter, contact forms, etc.)
• Create automatic email responses, for example:

Newsletter signup confirmation

“Thank you for signing up for the Olegio Newsletter.”

• Ensure emails are delivered correctly (SMTP setup, spam prevention)
• Connect forms to admin email

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with WordPress
• Experience with Hostinger or similar VPS hosting

Understanding of:

• Server load issues
• WordPress performance optimization
• Caching (LiteSpeed / WP Rocket / similar)
• WooCommerce setup experience
• Payment gateway integration
• HTML, CSS (basic design tweaks)
• Email & SMTP configuration
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and explain issues clearly

Nice to Have

• Experience with restaurant or bakery websites
• Knowledge of SEO-friendly structure
• Experience with website migrations
• Familiarity with security hardening for WordPress

Project Scope

• Immediate bug fixes and performance stabilization
• Short-term website improvements and store setup
• Potential ongoing maintenance and support
