Key responsibilitiesPlanning and design: Develop well designs, drilling programs, and cost estimates. This includes casing design, trajectory design, and hydraulic analysis.Collaboration: Work with geologists and geophysicists to determine optimal well locations and with other engineers on complex well plans.Operations management: Supervise drilling and completion activities, monitor real-time drilling parameters, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.Safety and compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety and environmental regulations and company guidelines.Equipment and materials: Select and maintain appropriate drilling equipment and assist with the procurement of materials and services.Budget and reporting: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare detailed engineering reports.Analysis and optimization: Analyze offset well data, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for optimization and recovery enhancement. Required skillsStrong knowledge of drilling techniques, including rotary, directional, and horizontal drilling.Ability to conduct technical analysis, such as hydraulics, torque and drag, and pore pressure/fracture gradient analysis.Project management and budget management skills.Proficiency with engineering software and data analysis tools.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various teams and service providers.
