Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Logistics to develop and execute the company's logistics strategy, focusing on cost optimization, process improvements, and customer satisfaction. The role involves leading logistics teams, optimizing operations, and aligning logistics goals with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics and Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the entire logistics network including warehousing, transportation, distribution, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and contractors effectively.
  • Implement advanced logistics technologies to enhance real-time data access and streamline operations.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics operations to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement industry best practices across logistics, supply chain, and distribution processes.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor KPIs and inform decision-making.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Develop and manage the logistics department budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Oversee resource allocation and expenditures to meet financial targets.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high service quality.

Supply Chain Risk Management:

  • Anticipate and mitigate risks such as supply disruptions, transportation delays, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize operational impact.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of goods to customers.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve logistics-related issues and improve satisfaction.

Compliance and Regulatory Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations including safety standards, customs laws, and environmental requirements.
  • Stay proactive about regulatory changes affecting logistics processes.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts with logistics service providers.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to enhance logistics operations.

Innovation and Technology:

  • Drive adoption of new logistics technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Evaluate emerging trends and advancements to keep the company at the forefront.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Analyze operational data and KPIs to measure efficiency and implement improvements.
  • Provide regular performance reports and actionable insights to senior management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, APICS) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution operations.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop large, diverse teams.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong skills in budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in using data and analytics to drive operational improvements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for effective stakeholder communication.
  • Technology: Familiarity with logistics software, ERP systems, and supply chain technology.

Working Conditions:

  • Location: May require travel to logistics hubs, warehouses, and regional offices.
  • Schedule: Full-time executive role; may require flexible hours to manage cross-timezone operations and urgent matters.
