Job Summary / Objective:

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Establish logistics process for the Chemical and Gases transportation from all global and domestic locations and suppliers,
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound logistics for bulk and packaged gases and chemicals.
  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and logistics across multiple sites (Internal and External, including tanker and bulk operations), ensuring timely and accurate product delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements related to the handling, storage, and transport of hazardous materials, including high-pressure gas vessels and chemicals.
  • Establish safety processes and operational standards that prioritize safety, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of Indian regulations concerning import and export, as well as the storage and distribution of gases and chemicals. This includes knowledge of the Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals guidelines, IATA Regulations, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, BIS certification under specific Quality Control Orders (QCOs), regulations from Pollution Control Boards, and PESO regulations.
  • Manage inventory control, stock movements, and warehouse operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Deploy safety equipment in the warehouse and implement best practices for storage, packaging, and labeling according to SDS requirements to maintain product quality and safety (Gas & Chemical).
  • Analyse logistics workflows and KPIs to identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives
  • Complete understanding of decontamination of the empty vessel, cylinders, toed and tanks, and reverse Logistics.
  • Hands-on experience in hazardous waste management and knowledge of applicable laws on waste management,

Qualification

  • A preferred Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent field is advantageous, along with experience in supply chain management a related field.
  • Must be authorized to sign the Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD) and be certified by TATA.

Experience

  • Experience:

    Minimum of 10-12 years of proven experience in import/export operations, preferably within the gas and chemical manufacturing sectors. Experience specifically handling chemical and gas products (including dangerous goods) is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:

    Extensive knowledge of gas and chemical logistics, including Indian import and export regulations (Customs, DGFT, PESO, PCB), international trade laws, Incoterms, and compliance requirements, particularly for hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
  • In-depth knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance for hazardous materials
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management:

    Strong understanding of Gas and Chemical logistics, multi-modal transportation, freight forwarding, and warehousing.
  • Negotiation & Communication:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders globally and negotiating effectively.
  • IT Proficiency:

    Competence in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and potentially specific logistics/trade compliance software
