About the Role: We are looking for a talented Video Editor with strong camera operation skills to join our academic production team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for both capturing high-quality video content and performing end-to-end post-production for university-level educational videos. You will collaborate closely with faculty, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructional designers to create visually compelling, pedagogically sound video assets optimized for learning platforms. Key Responsibilities: π₯ Camera Operations & On-Site Production β Set up and operate DSLRs/mirrorless cameras, lighting rigs, and audio equipment for academic shoots. β Film faculty lectures, tutorials, and expert interviews in a professional and studio-like setup. β Ensure optimal framing, lighting, composition, and sound for every shoot. β Provide input on shot design and visual storytelling during production. βοΈ Video Editing & Post-Production β Edit academic videos using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, or Final Cut Pro. β Apply motion graphics, text overlays, subtitles, and transitions to enhance viewer engagement. β Maintain consistency in branding, style, and pacing across video assets. β Collaborate with designers and academic teams to align visuals with learning goals. π Content Optimization & Delivery β Prepare videos for upload on platforms such as LMS, YouTube, and internal portals. β Ensure videos are pedagogically structured, easy to follow, and aligned with curriculum requirements. β Perform video compression, format conversions, and platform-specific optimization. π§ Technical Management β Handle and maintain all media equipment including tripods, lapel mics, gimbals, and backup drives. β Ensure organized file management, media backup, and archival of raw and final content. Qualifications & Skills: π Education β Degree/Diploma in Film Production, Mass Media, Communication, Visual Arts, or a related field. π Experience β 2β5 years in video editing and camera operation, preferably in academic, corporate, or edtech setups. β Demonstrated experience in studio shoots, tutorial-style videos, and documentary formats. π Technical Proficiency β Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, After Effects, Final Cut Pro (or equivalent). β Understanding of camera settings, white balance, exposure, and audio recording techniques. β Experience with motion graphics, color correction, and sound syncing. π Soft Skills β Strong sense of visual storytelling and attention to detail. β Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team setting. β Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production schedule.
