Investment Principal

Location: Bangalore, India (or willing to relocate to Bangalore)

Reporting Line: General Partners, Posspole CVC

Role Description:

The Investment Principal will be a cornerstone hire, responsible for leading sourcing, diligence, and portfolio building. You will work directly with the GPs and Posspoles advisors to define strategy, engage the ecosystem, and guide the Analyst/Associate team. This role requires both executional excellence and the gravitas to represent Posspole in the venture community.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, corporate strategy, or venture building
• Proven track record of sourcing, evaluating, and/or executing early-stage investments
• Strong network and working experience in India and sector-relevant ecosystems (health, industrials, climate, logistics, defence, etc.)
• Excellent relationship management skills with founders, LPs, and internal stakeholders
• Ability to articulate fund strategy, write investment theses, and lead IC conversations
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to build processes in a new fund environment
• Comfortable with leading teams, with experience in managing teams
• Comfortable working across multiple geographies and cultures, with prior global exposure strongly preferred
• Desirable: Startup operating experience (founder, operator, or venture studio)

Education Requirements

• Undergraduate: Tier-1 STEM degree (IITs, BITS, IISc or equivalent preferred) providing strong technical and analytical foundations.
• Postgraduate: Top-tier MBA or equivalent business/finance qualification (ISB, IIM A/B/C, Wharton, INSEAD, etc. preferred) to bridge technology with investment and strategy.

• Global Exposure & Network Depth: Education or work in major tech hubs plus deep ties to Indian tech and VC ecosystems to bridge cross-border opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management: Manage analyst/associate team, set sourcing priorities, review diligence outputs, and coach junior staff
• Deal Origination & Execution: Source high-quality startups through networks, accelerators, universities, and inbound deal flow. Lead financial, strategic, and commercial diligence, ensuring alignment with fund thesis
• Investment Committee: Prepare, present, and defend deals at IC. Co-lead decision-making with GPs, and take responsibility for shaping portfolio construction
• Ecosystem Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, co-investors, LPs, accelerators, and corporate partners. Represent Posspole at key ecosystem events and panels
• Fund Strategy & Governance: Work closely with GPs and Posspole’s to absorb and implement CVC playbooks, reporting frameworks, and governance structures. Contribute to portfolio reviews, NAV updates, and LP reporting
• Value Creation: Support portfolio founders’ post-investment by facilitating introductions, strategic partnerships, and access to Posspole’s corporate network
• Fundraising & LP Relations: Play an active role in external fundraising alongside the GPs and support fundraising efforts for the fund by joining LP meetings, preparing materials, building targeted presentation decks, and tracking engagement progression. Assist GPs in maintaining LP relationships and ensuring timely follow-ups
• Operational Support: Provide support to GPs on selected administrative and operational functions related to fund management, governance, and reporting
• Thought Leadership: Develop sector-specific insights (e.g., industrials, climate, logistics, health tech) and position Posspole as a credible player in these ecosystems
