About The Opportunity

A fast-growing player in the US tax & accounting software sector serving US-registered technology startups. We combine modern tax software and human expertise to deliver scalable, compliant, and cost-efficient tax services to hundreds of US companies. This role sits in our Bangalore delivery center and focuses on high-quality US corporate tax compliance and advisory.Role & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal and state corporate tax returns (Form 1120) and associated workpapers, ensuring compliance with US tax laws and timely filings.
  • Prepare and file information returns and international filings including 1099s, Forms 5471/5472, FBAR, and BEA submissions; manage e-filing and state registrations.
  • Draft responses to IRS and state tax notices, coordinate communications with tax authorities, and manage documentation for notices and audits.
  • Perform tax research on complex technical issues, document positions clearly, and advise partners and clients on implications of tax law changes.
  • Own client deliverables—meet scope, deadlines and quality standards; maintain day-to-day client relationships and escalate technical or risk issues to partners.
  • Drive process improvements and adopt tax technology (CCH and internal tools) to increase accuracy and throughput.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) qualification (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent and 0-3 years hands-on experience with US corporate tax filings (Form 1120).
  • Practical experience with information and international filings: 1099, Forms 5471/5472, FBAR, BEA and state franchise tax returns.
  • Experience with tax-preparation platforms such as CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess (or similar).
  • Strong tax research ability and working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and IRS procedures.
  • Excellent written English for drafting notices, client communications and tax positions; comfortable working Monday-Friday, 12 PM-9 PM IST from the Bengaluru office.

Preferred

  • Prior experience serving US technology startups or fast-growth SaaS clients.
  • Familiarity with accounting platforms (QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel for tax schedules and reconciliations.
  • Experience responding to state audits or IRS examinations.
