1 . Provide Amenities to Workers
The welfare officer must assist in providing basic amenities to the workers. The basic amenities include a) Canteens b) Crches c) Shelters of Rest d) Latrine Facilities e) Drinking Water f) Sickness Schemes g) Pension and Superannuation of Funds h) Granting Loan i) Gratuity Payment j) Legal Advice k) Any other amenities as prescribed by the State Government
2. Assist the Factory Management
3. Advice on Welfare Provisions
4. Intimate the management about the grievances of workers
5. Maintain harmonious relations between workers, factory management
6. Coordinate with the Workers to enable the formulation of Welfare Policies
7. Monitor the Industrial Relations
8. Advise the Management about the Fulfilment of statutory Obligations The welfare officer must advise the factory management on matters related to the fulfilment of statutory obligations or any other obligations. The obligations include but are not restricted to – • Working hours • Medical care • Maternity benefit, • Compensation for injuries and sickness • Any other welfare and social benefit measures
9. Help the workers to adjust to the working environment.
10.Supervise the Welfare Committees
11.Guide the Factory Management on Regulation of workers in the Factory
