Job Description

Unit Manager - Risk / Senior Unit Manager - Risk
Job Purpose
This position is open with Bajaj Finance Ltd. The company is undergoing a significant digital transformation, creating a platform that offers an omnichannel experience to customers, supported by a large distribution footprint of over 1 million partners. Manage and enrich Franchise customer data (55 Cr) to enable creation and generation of Pre-Approved offers, improve approval rates by enriching data through verified sources, and enable instant disbursals by continuously improving fill rates of verified information to help scale volumes in the 3in1 App. Build a database which targets the right set of customers, resulting in fewer customer complaints and improved brand reputation. Responsible for identifying data requirements and evaluating the quality of data sourced through external vendors. This capability will help build scale on the 3in1 App and aims to improve the company's market share by 10% from current levels at the same portfolio risk levels. Duties and Responsibilities

Offer and Data Quality

Analyze whether enriched data sets are leading to better approval rates.

Analyze and fix rejections happening on any data which has been enriched and verified.

Analyze if BFL market share is increasing and performance of Offer vs No Offer pool.

Use data to understand where customer drop-offs occur and what their pain points are.

Conduct timely and frequent audits to ensure that the company's brand is represented properly and factual business information is being adhered to.

Data enrichment of franchise base based on internal and external sources.

Responsible for end-to-end data quality & enrichment, validation & verification for variables.

Define validation rules and confidence levels for any variable brought into the single repository.

Define logic for flagging of confidence levels for the data fields to enable end users to use the data as per their confidence flagging.

Governance of new data elements or new data sources.

Responsible for ensuring error rates in data quality are maintained within threshold levels.

Define validation rules for data fields to ensure that junk data does not enter the repository.

Ensure that the data tables have no data quality issues.

Ensure all existing and prospect records are maintained in a single repository.

Maintain all other data points related to these records and any data enrichment in a single repository.

Data Enrichment

Engage with the Partnership team to validate that information meets the defined quality standards.

Qualify whether data points from a particular partner or source can be used for enrichment.

Identify and maintain a list of sources/websites to be used for data enrichment.

Key Decisions / Dimensions

Design of data storage table

Addition of new data sources

Data quality validations

Major Challenges

Working with extremely large data sets

Coordination with multiple stakeholders

Evaluate usage of data for additional propositions (line/approval) to customer

Clean up of existing data in BAU as well as creating a new data storage framework

Required Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications: Post-graduation/MBA with 2+ years' experience in retail lending risk

Work Experience:

Minimum 2+ years of experience in SQL/EDW management

Excellent analytical, data management, and presentation skills

Experience with large data handling and quantitative analysis

Exposure to data analytics tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Decision Tree), automated BI reports

Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management

Exceptionally high motivational levels and a self-starter attitude
