Underwriter

As an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter with 3+ years of experience in US mortgage, your role will involve evaluating complete loan documents and making approval or denial decisions. You should be well-versed with FNMA, FHLMC, and have knowledge of GNMA and investor guidelines for added advantage. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting a thorough review of credit reports to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliation. - Performing detailed income calculations including salaried income, business income, retired other income, and rental income. - Assessing collateral and property valuation. - Verifying assets such as borrowers" bank account statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investments. - Analyzing credit based on the 4Cs of Underwriting (borrowers" Income, Asset, Liability, and Collateral) to determine customer creditworthiness. - Validating and processing loan documents on behalf of a Mortgage lender organization. In addition to your underwriting responsibilities, you should possess good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as decision-making abilities when applying business judgment. Communication, presentation skills, self-motivation, and hard work are qualities that will contribute to your success in this role. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits such as health insurance and Provident Fund. The work schedule may include night shifts, rotational shifts, UK shifts, US shifts, and weekend availability. Experience working in a similar role for at least 1 year is preferred.
