Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Motor/Non-EB & EB placement/Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing client needs, identifying risk gaps, preparing and negotiating insurance quotes, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of policy placements. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of various lines of insurance, including property, marine, engineering, and liabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Suggest appropriate insurance coverage and policies to clients to address risk gaps.
• Prepare quotes and broking documents to present to clients.
• Negotiate with various insurers to secure discounts and competitive terms tailored to the client's trade.
• Prepare placement slips and circulate them in the market to gather competitive quotes from various insurers for all lines of business, including property, marine, engineering, liabilities, etc.
• Handle both pre-placement (working on raw data) and post-placement (addition, deletion, increase, or decrease endorsements) processes.
• Provide placement services for assigned clients, ensuring all their needs are met promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate with insurers to appoint surveyors based on the nature and quantum of reported losses.
• Conduct quality checks after policy placement to ensure all terms and conditions align with the approved RFQ.
• Perform thorough cross-checks of policy placements with insurers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Analyse current insurance programs to identify any risk gaps.
• Prepare comprehensive portfolio review reports, evaluating risk exposures and recommending necessary adjustments.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of various lines of insurance, including property, marine, engineering, and liabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in the non-employee benefits sector
• In-depth knowledge of insurance principles, practices, and regulations
• Proficient in analysing raw data and preparing detailed reports.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
• Skilled in negotiating terms and conditions with insurers to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
• Ensures accuracy in all aspects of policy preparation and placement.
• Dedicated to meeting the needs of clients and providing exceptional service.
• Clear and effective in both written and verbal communication.
