React and Microsoft Word APIs (Office.js

Responsibilities

responsive UI components using React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS

Build and extend Microsoft Word Add-ins using Office.js

• Develop workflows that read, write, format, and manipulate Word documents programmatically.

• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams

• Ensure seamless interaction between web UI components and the Word app across Web, Windows, and Mac Office versions.

• Implement code-splitting, tree-shaking, and performance optimization using Webpack.

• Debug and troubleshoot issues within both the React layer and the Word add-in environment, including Office.js runtime behaviors.

• Maintain clean, well-documented code using Git, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Stay updated on the latest Office Add-in platform, Office JS APIs, and Microsoft 365 developer capabilities.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience is necessary.

Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript

• Practical experience building Microsoft Word/Office Add-ins using Office.js APIs.

• Understanding of Word document structures — paragraphs, content controls, ranges, formatting, events, etc.

• Experience integrating React UI inside Office task panes and modifying Word content via API calls.

• Knowledge of Webpack, bundling strategies, code optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Strong debugging skills across Office.js and browser environments.

• Comfortable with Git, testing tools, and CI/CD workflows.

Good to Have

• Experience with Excel PowerPoint add-ins.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API.

• Understanding of document automation frameworks.
