Key Responsibilities of a Transport In-charge

(Computer literate with knowledge of Greater Noida routes preferred)

Minimum experience of 3 years

1. Transport Operations Management

• Oversee daily transportation activities including routing, scheduling, and vehicle dispatch.
• Ensure timely pickup and drop of students, staff, or goods as per organizational requirements.
• Monitor route efficiency to minimize fuel costs and travel time.

2. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety

• Schedule and track regular servicing, maintenance, and inspection of all vehicles.
• Ensure all vehicles comply with safety standards and government regulations (permits, insurance, pollution control, etc.).
• Handle emergency breakdowns and coordinate quick repairs or replacements.

3. Driver Supervision & Coordination

• Recruit, train, and manage drivers and support staff.
• Maintain duty rosters, monitor driver performance, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct regular meetings and safety briefings for drivers.

4. Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain detailed logs of fuel usage, mileage, maintenance, and expenses.
• Keep records of driver attendance, licenses, and disciplinary actions.
• Prepare and submit transport operation reports to management on a regular basis.

5. Budget & Cost Control

• Plan and manage the transport budget effectively.
• Optimize routes and schedules to reduce fuel consumption and overtime costs.
• Negotiate with vendors and service providers for best rates on maintenance and spare parts.

6. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and safety regulations.
• Implement safety measures such as speed monitoring, first-aid kits, and vehicle checks.
• Handle incident reports and ensure timely resolution of transport-related issues.

7. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with administration, academic departments, and parents/staff for transport needs and scheduling.
• Communicate route or schedule changes promptly to all concerned parties.

8. Emergency Management

• Be available for emergency transport needs and handle breakdowns, delays, or accidents efficiently.
• Maintain backup transport arrangements in case of unforeseen events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
