Job Description

Job Summary

The Transport In charge will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the school’s transportation services, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient transport for students and staff. The role requires coordination with drivers, maintenance teams, parents, and school authorities while adhering to CBSE safety guidelines and school policies. Preference will be given to candidates from the local area to facilitate smoother operations and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the school bus fleet, including route planning, scheduling, and monitoring trips.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in safe, clean, and good working condition. Coordinate regular servicing and repairs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and support staff, emphasizing safety and customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel consumption, maintenance, and trip logs.
  • Coordinate with parents and school administration to address transport-related queries, concerns, or emergencies.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols as per CBSE and local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with legal requirements such as vehicle permits, licenses, insurance, and driver certifications.
  • Manage budgetary aspects related to transportation services and assist in procurement of vehicles or services when needed.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on transport operations to school management.
  • Foster a positive relationship with local authorities and community stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum High School diploma; a degree or diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing transport operations, preferably in an educational or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic safety laws and transport regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including children, parents, and school staff.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and proactive approach.
  • Local residency or significant familiarity with the local area is preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license is an advantage (not mandatory unless the candidate is also expected to drive).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as per school requirements.
  • Background verification and police clearance may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,417.21 - ₹40,000.00 per month
