MOHAN (an acronym for Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network) Foundation is a not-
for- profit, non-governmental organization established in 1997 in Chennai to promotecadaver (brain death) organ donations in the country in the light of growing incidenceof end stage organ failure and contrasting shortage of organs.The objectives of MOHAN Foundation are: To Create public education programs on organ donation among a cross section of population Create hospital tie-ups and to motivate families of “brain dead’ patients to donate Organs Train professionals (transplant Coordinators) in facilitating organ donation Liaise with government to pass favourable legislations Network with other organ procuring organizations in the countryWe are looking for a sincere and motivated candidate to apply for the position ofTransplant Coordinator in Tripura office.Transplant Coordinator:Eligibility:a) Graduate of any recognised system of medicine; orb) Nurse; orc) Bachelor's degree in any subject and possibly master’s degree in social work or Psychiatry or Sociology or Social Science or Public HealthKey Responsibilities – He/she will be placed at a hospital that the Foundation has tied up with and will make daily ICU rounds and counsel families of “brain dead” patients to donate organs He/she will actively organise awareness talks both within and outside the hospital He/she will get familiar with ‘The Human Organ Transplant Act 1994’ to ensure all legal compliances of organ donation He/she will maintain records and report all activities carried out both within and outside the hospital He/she will build and maintain relationships with hospitals and NGOs to spread the message of organ donationKey skills and aptitude – 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in an NGO/ICU/Transplant Centre An ability to work independently & attend on call duty in and outside hospital Excellent written and verbal communication skills, local language Hindi and English Good presentation and reporting skills Good Computer skills Good interpersonal skills are a mustNOTE: Candidate should be dynamic, honest and possess critical thinking ability.Commitment to the cause of organ donation is a must.Please apply with your updated CV to mohanfoundation@gmail.com
