Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tamil <> English translator for onsite work. The ideal candidate will translate government, legal, and general texts while ensuring accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance. This is a contract-based position with monthly salary and performance-based bonus opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate documents from Tamil to English and vice versa, including government forms, legal papers, and general texts.
• Ensure translations maintain original meaning, tone, and context.
• Perform both human translation and machine translation post-editing (MTPE) as required.
• Collaborate with project managers and reviewers to refine translations.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and format.
• Meet project deadlines while ensuring high-quality output.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional translation experience.
• Proficient in both Tamil and English, including Tamil typing/input skills.
• Experience in translating government, legal, and general documents.
• Familiarity with both human translation and machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in onsite translation environments.
• Familiarity with translation tools and CAT software.
• Prior experience with government or legal documentation translation.
• Key Competencies
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in Tamil and English.
• Strong cultural awareness and understanding of context-specific language.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Contract Details

• Employment Type: Full-time contract
• Work Arrangement: Onsite
• Compensation: Monthly salary plus performance-based bonus
• Duration: Minimum 3 months, maximum 12 months (project-based, with possible extensions)
