Full-time Book Layout Artists / DTP Operators

As a Book Layout Artist at Ailaysa Technologies Pvt Ltd, you will be an integral part of the Book Publishing Solutions department, responsible for creating professional layouts for trade books in both English and Tamil. Your expertise in Adobe InDesign and specialized knowledge in Tamil typography and desktop publishing will be essential in ensuring exceptional visual presentation and readability across fiction and non-fiction titles. Your key responsibilities will include designing and executing professional book layouts, implementing proper typography and formatting standards, handling Tamil typography and text formatting, preparing print-ready files, conducting quality assurance checks, and collaborating with editorial teams to implement text revisions. You must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Tamil DTP, proven experience in book layout and design, and proficiency in Adobe InDesign at an advanced level. To excel in this role, you should have native or near-native proficiency in Tamil, a strong understanding of Tamil typography and script characteristics, and knowledge of Tamil Unicode standards and font technologies. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, understanding of color management and print specifications, and knowledge of EPUB and digital publishing formats are also required. Additionally, a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, experience with ePublishing and digital formatting, and knowledge of other Indian languages and scripts are preferred qualifications. You will be evaluated on your Adobe InDesign proficiency, Tamil typography, and layout skills, as well as your portfolio showcasing book layout work.
