Trainee Quality Engineer

To assist in ensuring the quality of manufactured gearbox components and assemblies meets specified standards and customer requirements. The trainee will support inspection, testing, documentation, and process improvement initiatives under the guidance of senior quality personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in inspection of raw materials, in-process components, and finished gearboxes using gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, and CMM (if trained).
• Support the implementation of quality control plans (QCPs) and checklists as per ISO/TS standards.
• Conduct basic visual inspections and dimensional checks on gears, shafts, and housings.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols relevant to gearbox components.
• Record and report non-conformities (NCRs) and assist in root cause analysis using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis.
• Participate in daily quality meetings, audits, and production reviews.
• Assist in calibration and upkeep of quality tools and measuring instruments.
• Support senior engineers in compiling inspection reports, PPAP/FAI documentation, and quality records.
• Follow and enforce 5S, Kaizen, and safety practices in the quality lab and shop floor.
• Be open to learning about gear manufacturing processes such as hobbing, grinding, heat treatment, and assembly.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Fresher)
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of basic measuring instruments
• Good communication and team collaboration skills
