Traffic Engineer

Profile Summary:

A Traffic Engineer designs, analyses, and implements solutions to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems. Key responsibilities include analysing traffic patterns, developing plans for roads and signals, conducting safety studies, and collaborating with other professionals and agencies. They use tools like traffic simulation software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to model traffic flow, plan improvements, and manage existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse and model traffic flow and transportation systems.
• Design road layouts, intersections, and traffic control measures.
• Develop and evaluate transportation plans, policies, and strategies.
• Analyse traffic data and conduct traffic capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement.
• Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments.
• Use transport modelling software
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies (NHAI, MoRTH and state PWD) and community organizations.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed
• Ensure compliance with relevant transportation standards and regulations
• Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Master/Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Associates degree in Civil Technology
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in traffic engineering, including experience with traffic impact assessments, traffic signal timing, and capacity analysis.
• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to self-direct and work independently.
• Ability to schedule workload, meet deadlines and project deliverables.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
