Textile Lab Executive

A Textile Lab Executive is responsible for conducting physical, chemical, and performance testing on fabrics, yarns, and garments to ensure they meet required quality standards and customer specifications. The role ensures timely test reports, proper documentation, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Analysis

* Perform physical tests: GSM, tensile strength, tear strength, pilling, shrinkage, colorfastness, abrasion resistance, bursting strength, etc.

* Conduct chemical tests: pH value, color bleeding, formaldehyde, azo dyes, whiteness index, etc.

* Analyze yarn and fiber properties (count, twist, strength, moisture regain).

* Operate testing instruments (e.g., USTER, Spectrophotometer, Crockmeter, Perspirometer, Martindale, Tensile Tester).

2. Quality Assurance

* Verify incoming raw materials and finished product quality.

* Compare test results with buyer standards, ISO guidelines, AATCC, ASTM, or company standards.

* Support production team with technical feedback and corrective actions.

3. Reporting & Documentation

* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly test reports.

* Maintain test records, sample logs, calibration certificates, and audit documents.

* Communicate results to QA managers, buyers, and production heads.

4. Equipment & Safety

* Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.

* Maintain cleanliness and safety standards inside the lab.

* Handle chemicals safely and follow SOPs.

5. Coordination

* Work closely with QA, production, dyeing, printing, and merchandising teams.

* Assist in buyer audits, compliance inspections, and third-party test coordination.

Skills & Competencies

* Strong knowledge of textile testing standards (ISO / AATCC / ASTM).

* Ability to operate lab equipment and understand test protocols.

* Good analytical and documentation skills.

* Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word, SAP/ERP).

* Problem-solving and attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently under timelines.

Qualifications

* Diploma / B.Tech in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, or related field.

* 1–5 years of experience in a textile testing laboratory

Additional Requirements (Optional)

* Knowledge of chemical laboratory testing

* Understanding of color matching and spectrophotometer usage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
