Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute sales plans to drive business growth and market share.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and implement effective GTM approaches.
  • Ensure achievement of annual sales targets across products, customers, and regions.

3.2. Customer & Market Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with key customers and channel partners.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt service and cross-functional collaboration (Vendor Development, Quality, Logistics, etc.).
  • Gather market intelligence to support strategic pricing, positioning, and promotional efforts.

3.3. Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead and develop the sales team, including regional/state managers and field executives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement incentive schemes.
  • Support team capability building and ensure alignment with business goals.

3.4. Operational & Inventory Planning

  • Ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
  • Coordinate with SCM and production for efficient dispatch planning.
  • Minimize stock-outs and obsolescence through proactive planning.

3.5. Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Manage the annual sales budget and monitor cost efficiency.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives in logistics and trade spends.
  • Track and report key sales metrics to ensure timely course corrections.

4. MAJOR CHALLENGES

  • Achieving consistent sales growth in a competitive and price-sensitive market.
  • Aligning cross-functional teams (marketing, SCM, finance) to meet delivery and service goals.
  • Managing customer expectations and ensuring satisfaction during supply constraints.

5. DECISIONS

  • Strategic customer engagement plans and pricing strategies (in alignment with BU Head).
  • Regional resource allocation and team performance management.
  • Selection and management of key distribution/channel partners.
