Job Title: Technical Support Engineer (VoIP/ Cloud Telephony )

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Technical Support Engineer with 1 to 4 years of experience to support and maintain our telephony systems and VoIP infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SIP, VoIP, PBX systems, PRI Gateways, and Cloud Telephony, and be capable of troubleshooting and resolving customer issues related to voice services, call quality, and connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 1 & 2 technical support for customers using VoIP and cloud telephony solutions.
  • Monitor VoIP network performance and analyze call quality, packet loss, jitter, and latency issues.
  • Must have in-hand experience in Ticket handling, customer Queries, etc.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to SIP signaling, PBX configuration, PRI gateway interfaces, and cloud-based telephony platforms.
  • Work with internal engineering teams and external vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and create knowledge base articles for future reference.
  • Assist with onboarding and configuration of new telephony users, extensions, and IVR setups.
  • Perform system testing, software upgrades, and maintenance tasks on telephony systems.
  • Generate reports on system performance, uptime, and customer support metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in technical support or network/telecom engineering.
  • Solid understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols, and PBX systems (Asterisk, FreePBX, etc.)
  • Experience working with PRI Gateways (e.g., Sangoma, Audiocodes, Cisco).
  • Familiarity with Cloud Telephony platforms such as Twilio, Plivo, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in network performance and call quality diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, NAT, firewalls, QoS)
  • Ability to work with Wireshark or similar tools for VoIP trace analysis.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple customer issues simultaneously.
