Position Overview Are you passionate about chemistry, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of powder coating resin technology? allnex invites you to join our dynamic team in Mumbai, India as Technical Service & Development Chemist ! In this exciting role, you’ll be at the heart of the lab — developing, testing, and refining cutting-edge powder coating resin formulations that meet our customers’ needs and industry standards. You’ll work closely with R&D and technical teams, ensuring every product we deliver is robust, high-performing, and ready to make an impact. You’ll play a key role in shaping innovative powder coating resin solutions that meet real-world customer needs and set industry benchmarks. Your creativity, technical expertise, and hands-on work will directly contribute to product innovation and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Develop, test, and evaluate innovative powder coating resin formulations using established methods and procedures. Perform a range of coating characterization tests, including adhesion, hardness, mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and chemical resistance. Maintain detailed lab records, test results, and safety/environmental documentation. Ensure lab operations meet all safety protocols — including PPE usage and adherence to best practices. Oversee maintenance and calibration of lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. Collaborate with R&D and technical teams on new product development and continuous improvements. Efficiently organize and manage your lab workload, including planning multi-day experiments. Engage in discussions with internal teams and external suppliers related to equipment and lab materials. Required Skills And Experience 3–5 years of experience working with powder coating resins or powder coating technology, including formulation, application, and testing. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, application methods, and testing equipment used in powder coatings. Familiarity with industry standards and performance testing for powder coating products. Understanding of QMS ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes is a plus. Proficiency in using MS Excel and Word for documentation and reporting. Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively across teams. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and results-driven mindset. Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Physical ability to handle lab tasks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or Paint Technology.
