Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for water and wastewater products, systems, and services (e.g., treatment plants, instruments, O&M, AMC contracts) in assigned regions of India.
  • Identify and acquire new municipal, industrial, EPC and OEM customers; build and manage a robust opportunity pipeline aligned with Indian water sector growth.
  • Conduct technical presentations, site visits and product demonstrations to consultants, utilities and plant operators; translate client needs into tailored technical-commercial proposals.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and close offers, tenders and contracts in line with company policies and margin targets.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts; ensure high customer satisfaction through regular reviews and feedback loops.
  • Collaborate with engineering, service and project teams to ensure accurate sizing, design input, and successful project execution.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities and upcoming projects (AMRUT, Smart Cities, industrial clusters) and feed insights into business planning.
  • Support marketing activities such as participation in trade fairs, conferences, and technical seminars in the Indian water sector.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation) or related field; a Masters in Water Resources/Environment is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of technical sales or business development experience in water/wastewater treatment, flow metering, pumping, instrumentation, or related infrastructure solutions in India.
  • Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater processes (filtration, disinfection, STP/ETP, desalination, flow/level/quality measurement).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing complex, long-cycle B2B/B2G sales.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; ability to interact with engineers, procurement, senior management and government stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India to visit clients, job sites and project locations

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales of water and wastewater solutions (e.g., flow meter, instrumentation, digital solutions, services) across India, combining strong technical expertise with consultative selling to municipal, industrial, and infrastructure customers.
