Job Description

Role purpose:

  • Lead the technical sales back-office team (7 to 8 members) for proposals, costing and sales support for high-containment, powder handling and process equipment solutions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely techno-commercial offers and smooth coordination between customers, front-line sales, factory and global Dec Group teams.

Role & responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and motivate a team of 7 to 8 Technical Sales Back-office / Proposal Engineers and Coordinators.
  • Allocate enquiries, monitor workload, and ensure timely preparation and submission of quotations, tenders and technical documents.
  • Conduct regular reviews on quality, accuracy and on-time delivery of proposals and order-related documents.
  • Review and guide the team in preparing technically sound and commercially competitive offers for containment systems, powder transfer, isolators, blending/jet milling and turnkey systems.
  • Standardize templates, costing sheets, scope definitions, exclusions and T&Cs to reduce risk and improve clarity.
  • Act as the central coordination point between front-line sales, engineering, projects, factory (India and overseas), logistics and service.
  • Ensure timely preparation of all commercial documents for domestic and export orders: quotations, proforma invoices, LC terms, advance/payment terms, bank guarantees, dispatch documents etc.
  • Track status of all offers, orders, dispatches and installation milestones and provide regular MIS to Sales Head and Management.
  • Identify recurring issues (technical clarifications, documentation gaps, pricing errors) and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Technical and functional skills

  • Strong understanding of techno-commercial proposal preparation: sizing, basic design inputs, scope definition, options and costing.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, datasheets and tender documents.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with CRM/ERP and document control tools.
  • Advantage: Exposure to engineered-to-order (ETO) projects, high-containment / GMP environments and export documentation.

Experience

  • 8 to 12 years total experience, with at least 4 to 5 years in technical sales back-office, proposals or application engineering for capital equipment / process systems.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years in a team lead / assistant manager / supervisor role managing 4+ people; experience handling 7 to 8 members is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to pharma, biotech, chemical, food or bulk solids handling equipment such as isolators, powder transfer systems, reactors, dryers, mixers, jet mills, etc.
